I didn’t start as a coach or communicator. I started as a sixteen-year-old kid who couldn’t get hired.

I wanted to be an electrician, but no one would take a chance on me. My instructor gave me advice that felt ridiculous: “Put your tool belt on, drive around construction neighborhoods, and find the framers—they’ll hire anybody.”

It was awkward. I felt like an imposter. But I believed in the person who gave me the process. So I did it. I drove around with my tool belt on until a framing crew hired me on the spot. As I walked away, the old carpenter yelled, “Do you always drive around town with your tool belt on?” I said, “Only when I’m looking for work.” He laughed and said, “I’ll see you tomorrow.”

That moment—taking uncomfortable action because belief + process beats hesitation every time—became the foundation of everything I teach today.

Years later, I nearly quit the trades because I couldn’t communicate value. I turned left toward my manager’s office to quit… then made a decision that changed everything. I turned right. I found a top performer, humbled myself, and asked, “What’s your secret?”

It wasn’t charisma. It wasn’t luck. It was a process—a repeatable system for leading customers with clarity and confidence.
